Reading FI
The goal of level FI is for students to understand the links between sentences in a paragraph through referring words, restatement, examples and description and to construct an answer appropriate to the requirements of a question.
● Level FI Goals:
Understand the connections between sentences
Know what noun a pronoun is referring to in a passage
Develop a clearer understanding of paragraphs and their construction (important for summary skills in the next levels)
Practice constructing the best answer according to the requirements of a comprehension question
● Good Work Skills in this level include:
Reading directions and examples carefully
Reading passages for comprehension
Being able to remember and completely write the correct answer or sentence
Using capitalization and punctuation in sentences
Ability to correct easily and independently (don’t forget to grade every day!)
● Time Goal:
3-5 minutes per page
The study time goal is 20-30 minutes per day
Your Instructor will continually adjust the pages to adhere to this goal
● Grading Reminders:
Students must be able to learn from their mistakes daily
Take the time to grade and let them find and correct their own errors independently
Students can use what they have learned and apply it to the next day’s assignment allowing them to move smoothly and independently through the assignments
Do not count off for minor mistakes
Remember, these answers DO NOT have to be word for word based on the gradebook answers
