

Math Level F
In Level F, students continue calculations with fractions, now using the order of operations. Level F contains a challenging section of word problems, as well as work with decimals.
● Level F Goals:
- Review of levels A, B, C, D & E 
- Master adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing THREE sets of fractions 
- Four Operations 
- Value of X 
- Decimals 
● Good Work Skills in this level include:
- Writing all example problems in their Kumon notebook 
- Using the GCF (Greatest Common Factor) to reduce fractions in ONE STEP 
- Using the LCM (Least Common Multiple) to get the smallest common denominator possible 
- Cross reducing multiplication/division problems in order to work with the smallest numbers possible 
- Using the rules for calculating four operations - PEMDAS- Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally - P – Parenthesis 
- E – Exponents 
- M/D – Multiplication & Division (left to right) 
- A/S – Addition & Subtraction (left to right) 
 
 
- Converting all answers to proper fractions reduced to the lowest number possible 
- Showing ALL STEPS 
- Studying incorrect answers and erase only the part that is incorrect, then correct it 
● Time Goal:
- 3-5 minutes per page 
- The study time goal is 20-30 minutes per day. 
- Your Instructor will continually adjust the number of pages your child is studying to adhere to this goal 
● Grading Reminders:
- LCM answers are located next to the answers in the grade books – make sure your child is using the LCM 
- Students must be able to learn from their mistakes daily 
- Take the time to grade and let them find and correct their own errors independently 
- Students can use what they have learned and apply it to the next day’s assignment allowing them to move smoothly and independently through the assignments.
