Math Level 2A

In Level 2A, students further develop basic mental calculation in addition by a sequential study of adding 4 through adding 10. It is very important that students master the contents of this level for smooth progress in subsequent levels. Level 2A aims to develop the concentration and work skills necessary for Level A.

● Level 2A Goals:

• Add numbers 1-10

• Memorize addition facts

● Good Work Skills in this level include:

• Writing the same size as the numbers on the page

• Using patterns to help memorize math fact

• Memorizing math facts - don’t use fingers or count up Immediately moving down the page answering question after question without hesitation

• The ability to correct easily and independently (don’t forget to grade every day!)

● Time Goal:

• 1-2 minutes per page

• The study time goal is 15-20 minutes per day.

• Your Instructor will continually adjust the number of pages your child is studying to adhere to this goal

● Grading Reminders:

• Students must be able to learn from their mistakes daily

• Take the time to grade and let them find and correct their own errors independently

• Students can use what they have learned and apply it to the next day’s assignment allowing them to move smoothly and independently through the assignments.
